Las Palmas City Tour by Hop On & Hop Off Bus

The Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour has in total 11 stops within Las Palmas city for sightseeing. The timing of the tour is from 9:40 hours to 18:00 hours.  The ticket is valid for continuous use within 24 hours. Apart from the tour the ticket entitles you to special discounts at several shops and restaurants.


There are a total of 11 stops in the tour:

1) Stop 1: Parque Santa Catalina


2) Stop 9:  Muelle Santa Catalina (are just a 5 minutes walking distance apart)

Close by you can see the Elder Science Museum, Shopping Centre El Muelle, Las Palmas Port, Casino, Shopping streets of Luis Morote and Ripoche for Electronics, Tobacco, Liquor, Local Souvenirs, Textile and Canary Islands handicraft.

Great place to have coffee, lunch in the open air / at the beach or by the park. The Las Canteras beach is a 5 minutes’ walk.

3) Stop 2: El Corte Ingles

Gran Canarias ´s largest departmental store El Corte Ingles is located at the Mesa y Lopez shopping district. Tourists and foreigners can avail of a special discount of 10 % on prices on producing their passports.  They also will refund 7 % local sales tax (IGIC).  It is a one stop Mid – High End store. You will find A to Z to purchase at these twin buildings.

On the same street you will find a number of other stores such as Zara, Marks & Spenser, Massimo Dutti, Cortefiel, McDonald etc. There are a number of good cafes and cake shops lined across the street.

4) Stop 3: Paseo de la Cornisa

Suggest you skip this stop as it just a drive thro spot with the Cornisa club close by.

5) Stop 4: Pueblo Canario

If you are here mid day try the typical Canary island menu at the lovely restaurant. You can choose between the more traditional dining hall inside and the informal terrace and enjoy the natural ambience of the place. Pueblo Canarias also has a small museum, a Canary Islands products handicraft shop. Gran Canarias ´s oldest 5 star Hotel Santa Catalina is also located just besides.

Behind the building you will find one of the biggest parks at Las Palmas, Parque Doramas with children rides, swings, ponds and fountains with fish. The park has a large open area for a lazy stroll.

6) Stop 5: Vegueta / Cathedral


7) Stop 6: Teatro Perez Galdos

Both stops are just a 0.25 kms (0.15 Miles) from each. A must see spot. There are several places to see and shop here. This was the traditional capital district of Las Palmas. It has the biggest Cathedral of Canarias at Las Palmas with its Gothic architecture is a must see spot.

In the vicinity is the Casa de Colon which is now a museum. It is the place where Christopher Columbus stayed before embarking on his expeditions when he went on to discover America.

You can also see the local municipal market (Mercado de Vegueta) there are a number of eating joints serving Spanish style tapas and wine.

Triana shopping street (Original shopping district of Gran Canarias) is located here. A great area to see the “Old traditional Las Palmas shopping district. Have many designer stores such as H&M, Mango etc as well as traditional shops.

Teatro Perez Galdos also has been reformed and restored to its old glory. It is the first and original Auditorium with a number of plays, operas, musicals held daily.

7) Stop 7: Estación de San Telmo:

This is the central bus station. Get down or get in only if you wish to take the bus to the South (or any other) part of the island. Great place for connecting via the bus to the rest of the island.

8) Stop 8: Marina Las Palmas (Muelle Deportivo)

This is a pleasant scenic spot by the sea. There is a small shopping centre with a few restaurants. It has a lovely marina with the several yachts parked. There are some boat tours and boat connections to different parts of the South part of the island from here.

10) Stop 2A: Alfredo Kraus Auditórium


Alfredo Kraus Auditorium

One of the best beaches in the world with a blue flag. This 5 kms long beach can be one of the best walks by the sea in your life. Sprinkled with the Alfredo Klaus Auditorium, the most popular shopping centre of Gran Canarias Commercial Centre Las Arenas at one end.

The beach has a play areas for children. A zone for surfing and swimming, great restaurants, lovely beach area for a swim or to laze around or walk by.
